Terms of Use

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of One Line on iOS and Android.

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, accessing, or using One Line, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the app.

If you access One Line through Apple App Store or Google Play, you may also be subject to the applicable Apple or Google terms.

2. Description of the service

One Line allows users to write one short daily line, personalize their story, generate an introduction, keep a personal history, and generate weekly chapters based on their entries.

The app may include reminders, sharing features, account backup or recovery through Google or Apple, and premium features available with an active subscription.

3. Eligibility and account responsibility

You must be old enough to use One Line under the laws of your country and the rules of the app store from which you downloaded the app.

One Line can be used with an anonymous Firebase account. You may choose to link or restore an account with Google or Apple to secure your history. You are responsible for keeping access to your device, accounts, backups, and store account secure.

Switching accounts in the app does not automatically delete cloud data from the account you leave. Deleting your cloud data or One Line account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription.

4. User content

You remain the owner of the content you write in One Line, including daily lines, your first intro line, personalization information, and personal entries.

You grant One Line a limited license to process your content only as needed to provide the app features, including storing, displaying, backing up, restoring, generating introductions and chapters, maintaining private narrative memory, and sharing when you initiate it.

You are responsible for the content you submit and agree not to use One Line to store, create, or share unlawful, abusive, harmful, infringing, or privacy-invasive content.

5. Generated content

One Line uses automated systems or artificial intelligence to generate introductions and chapters based on your own entries, onboarding, narration preferences, and the private narrative memory associated with your account.

Generated content may be imperfect, inaccurate, incomplete, or emotionally inappropriate. You should review generated content before relying on it or sharing it.

One Line aims not to invent concrete facts, life events, or relationships that you did not provide, but no automated system can guarantee perfect accuracy.

One Line is not a medical, mental health, legal, financial, or professional advice service.

6. Subscriptions and in-app purchases

One Line may offer paid features through in-app purchases, including auto-renewable subscriptions. Prices, billing periods, trial availability, and included features are shown in the app or in the App Store or Google Play purchase flow before purchase.

Purchases made on iOS are processed by Apple through the App Store. Purchases made on Android are processed by Google through Google Play. Your payment method is charged by Apple or Google, not directly by One Line.

RevenueCat may be used to validate purchases, restore entitlements, and synchronize your premium status with the backend.

Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period, or as otherwise stated by Apple or Google in the purchase flow.

You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account subscriptions settings or Google Play subscriptions settings. Deleting the app, switching accounts, or deleting One Line data does not cancel your subscription.

Refunds, billing disputes, and cancellation effects are handled by Apple or Google according to their applicable policies.

7. Quotas and premium access

Some generations, history features, or advanced functions may be limited for free accounts or reserved for premium users. The backend may apply generation quotas based on your subscription status.

Chapters generated while you have premium access may remain available according to the product rules shown in the app. These rules may evolve, except where law or store terms require otherwise.

8. Availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that One Line will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

We may add, change, suspend, or remove features where needed for security, legal, operational, or product reasons.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse One Line. In particular, you must not:

  • Attempt to access systems or data without authorization.
  • Interfere with the security, availability, or performance of the service.
  • Use One Line to create, store, or transmit unlawful, abusive, hateful, threatening, infringing, or privacy-invasive content.
  • Reverse engineer, copy, resell, or exploit the app except where allowed by law.
  • Bypass subscription, quota, entitlement, or access controls.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect data, including local data, cloud data, anonymous accounts, Google or Apple backups, subscriptions, and generated content. By using One Line, you acknowledge that your data will be handled as described in the Privacy Policy.

11. Third-party services

One Line may rely on third-party services such as Apple App Store, Google Play, Firebase, Google Cloud, Vertex AI or an equivalent AI processing provider, RevenueCat, analytics or crash reporting tools, support tools, and Google or Apple authentication services. Your use of those services may also be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

12. Termination and deletion

You may stop using One Line at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for the service or other users, or if required by law.

When the app provides a deletion option, you may request deletion of cloud data associated with your One Line account. Deletion may be irreversible and may result in loss of your history, chapters, and private narrative memory.

Termination or deletion does not automatically cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription. You must cancel subscriptions through Apple or Google subscription settings.

13. Disclaimers

One Line is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will meet your expectations or that generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for your needs.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, One Line and its publisher shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities arising from your use of the app.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The latest version will be available on this page, and continued use of One Line after an update means you accept the updated Terms.
